Warpath: Who Wants To See My Worms???

I love rats! The first army I collected was Skaven, I was born in the year of the rat and now I am totally obsessed with the Veer-myn. However, one of the problems with being a Vee-myn fan is that a lot of the entries in the army list don't have any miniatures yet. Next year Mantic will be running a Warpath Kickstarter campaign that will hopefully see the majority, if not all, of the army list options blessed with shiny new models. That is all well and good but I want Shredders and Ravenous Hordes now, not next year!
So I took a deep breath and plunged into my bitz box, intent on returning with some new Veer-myn units...

Who wants to see my worms???

Warpath: Speed Painting Red Orx.

Im lucky enough to have two beautiful sons, Adam (3yrs) and Jack (18mths) but of the pit falls of having young children is that even when you do manage to find time to do some painting they like to "help".
Upon seeing my unpainted Forge Fathers and Marauders Adam decided that I had made them for himself and his little brother. Obviously my counter argument fell on deaf ears so I am now in the process of painting two Warpath armies to Adam's specifications!
Adam dictated that Jack's new Marauder army should be red, black and white. After a little thinking of how this would look on the miniatures I remembered a short story on the Mantic website about a Corporation force fighting an army of red skinned Orx (HERE is a link to the story)!
So I settled on red flesh with rusted metal and black for clothes.
First I went to the local Trago Mills and bought myself a spray can of red plastic primer. This stuff is supposed to be used on cars but works really well on miniatures and costs about a quarter of the price that GW sell it for!

An Orx undercoated using a primer designed for cars!

Welcome To The Council Of Seven...

First things first, I'm Andrew but I am often known as Loudo on the many wargaming blogs and forums. I have been writing for the Shades Of Chaos blog for almost a year now yet I have never created my own. So this will be my first solo attempt.

My Warpath army of choice, Veer-myn!

The Council Of Seven will be dedicated to the sci-fi side of Mantic Games including Deadzone, Project Pandora, Dreadball and of course Warpath. The name for the blog also comes from these games as it is the Council Of Seven that governs the sprawling might of the Human Corporations.
I plan on including tactics, basic painting, conversions, home brew rules and maybe some fluff.
I hope you enjoy the blog and visit again soon.

See ya.
